Located at the foot of the glacial formation known as the Ree Hills, our family owned and managed ranch is home to our herd of Angus based cattle.
This land was once grazed by the great American Bison as evidenced by the many buffalo bones buried at the foot of the hills. Hundreds of years ago, the Woodland Indians, and later the Arikara or Ree, apparently hunted buffalo by driving them over the steep hill subsidence areas. Indian tepee rings can be found on the hill tops.
The original Ree Heights Railroad Depot, thought to have been built about 1882, sits in the back yard.
We cherish the opportunity to all work together as a team and to observe the beauty and diversity in nature. We also admit that the challenges are great.
Thank you for visiting Thousand Hills Ranch!
